Inauguration of the floating-PV system in Grafenwörth

After the start of construction last autumn, the Grafenwörth floating-PV system was officially opened at a ceremony. The inauguration on 13 May was also an open day and offered more than 400 visitors a varied programme of activities.

After the speeches by Deputy Governor Stephan Pernkopf, Mayor Alfred Riedl, EVN Managing Director Franz Mittermayer and ECOwind Managing Director Johann Janker, the PV system was blessed by Parish Priest Quirinus Greiwe. Afterwards, the visitors were able to enter the largest floating-PV system in Central Europe via a floating walkway and take a close look at it. The fire brigades of Grafenwörth and Seebarn provided the food and drink. The event was accompanied musically by the Musikverein Grafenwörth.

More than 45,000 PV modules with a total output of about 24.5 MWp now supply about 7,500 households with solar power. The plant was built by EVN-ECOWIND Sonnenstromerzeugungs GmbH.
